Josh Abbott and William Clark Green

Josh Abbott and William Clark Green are together in an acoustic song swap.

Abbott got his start in the mid-2000s when he and frat brother Austin Davis showed up for a few informal gigs at the Blue Light Live in Lubbock. They also came to Blaine’s Pub back then. If you were around in 2007, you may remember Abbott performing here once or twice a month on Thursdays.

Through hard work and determination, Abbott built his brand and rose to the top of the Texas Music Charts with hits like “Amnesia,” “Oh, Tonight “(with Kacey Musgraves), and “She’s Like Texas.” His latest is “Wasn’t That Drunk”, a duet with Carly Pearce.

William Clark Green was named by Radney Foster last month as the one to watch on the Texas Music Scene today. Also from West Texas, Green appeared on the scene in 2010 with his Mount Vernon Sessions recordings. Having the dual ability to sing and write songs with meaning, Green is reaching his stride with last year’s record release of Ringling Road, a strong follow-up to his wildly popular Rose Queen record released in 2013.

You’ll recognize many of Green’s originals, including “Rose Queen,” “Caroline,” “She Likes the Beatles,” and “Ringling Road.”

The evening will be a informal performance with Abbott and Green trading songs and stories behind them.
