Nathan Bonnes

When Nathan Bonnes was in a high school band, he received a biting piece of advice on how to improve the sound of his band – let someone else do the singing. Looking back, he has to admit that this piece of advice was true...
Things have gotten drastically better for Nathan Bonnes since then. As he entered college and began to hone his songwriting skills, he grew into his baritone voice, and started being invited to sing into the microphone all over the great state of Texas. While other musically inclined college students were piddling around on their guitar in spare time between classes, Nathan was writing daily, performing around Houston at open mics and coffee shops, and taking off on weekends for recording sessions, gigs, and practices with his band. In four years of college he wrote and produced three EPs of original material and played over one hundred shows. As he individually improved, Nathan also made many talented friends, from the best folk pickers of Aggie land to classical musicians enrolled alongside him at Rice University, which has one of the best music programs in the country. This varied cast of musician friends gives his songs a unique flavor, with string quartet arrangements soaring right beside steel guitar and mandolin.  After graduating in college in 2015, Nathan has written and recorded his full length debut album, set to come out this fall.
