Chris Colston

East Texas native, Chris Colston has recently sent a storm sweeping through the Texas music scene with the release of his latest EP, “Gone.” The title track has surpassed more than 200,000 streams on Spotify in just three short months after its release, and with that, Colston has set the bar quite high for himself as well as other upcoming artists in the scene.

Colston’s musical story began after his step father encouraged him to take drum lessons at the age of 7. He grew up listening to the likes of Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers and country legends Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson, and his musical sound continued to be influenced throughout the years by bands like Whiskey Myers and Blackberry Smoke. Listening to them helped Colston curate his own style of what he describes as “gritty Texas roots combined with rock n roll.”

His honest, relatable lyrics resonate with his rapidly growing fan base and with that, Colston has created a product you cannot deny. “It’s a good feeling knowing what I wrote and had feelings about touched someone else’s life enough for them to learn the lyrics and be able to sing along to my songs,” says Colston. Colston is already back in the studio pushing the limits of his song writing. He treats each song he writes with a conscientious level of commitment and true dedication. “Music has always played an important role… I remember the first time I wanted to play music, it took one song and I knew this is what I wanted to do,” says Colston. “I want my music to be heard all across the world.” New music is expected to be released during the fall of 2018.
