Sunday from 12 noon until 8 p.m. we will hold a benefit fundraiser for the family of Lori Allen Fry.
Lori was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2010. She underwent seven months of treatment and has been in remission for five years.
Six months ago Lori was diagnosed with MDS (myodysplastic syndrome), another form of Leukemia.
She is currently at M.D. Anderson in Houston and will be undergoing a bone marrow transplant.
If this treatment works, she could be cured of the Leukemia.
This treatment will require Lori to be isolated from family and friends for at least a 30-day period. If successful, she can be released from the hospital but will require 24-hour care and have to remain within a five-mile radius of M.D. Anderson in Houston for at least four months.
In total, she will need to remain near M.D. Anderson up to eight months, incurring significant expenses for her family.
We're going to hold this benefit to raise money to help defray some of these costs.
Lori and her family greatly appreciate your prayers and support during this difficult time.
Activities at the benefit include:
- Gun raffle - $5 per ticket
- Live music
- Lunch plates
- Live auction
The suggested donation at the door is $10 and includes lunch.
Lunch plates are available to go.
Please contact Drema Neves at (325) 763-7250 or Catherine Hood at (325) 656-5152 regarding auction items or volunteer questions. Children are welcome but must leave by 7 p.m.
