Jackson Wendell
Rising star Jackson Wendell was born and raised in Lufkin, a town nestled in the heart of deep East Texas. In childhood, Wendell discovered his natural aptitude for music after picking up a guitar, later joining the worship team at his church. Wendell later became interested in writing his own songs, penning his first track, “Ain’t Coming Home,” at just 14 years old. Driven by an insatiable need to create music, Wendell had flexibility in his schedule as a homeschool student that allowed him to fully immerse himself in his music and travel often with his family, gaining new perspectives that helped strengthen his songwriting.
As a high school senior, Wendell had plans to attend Ole Miss before an offer to open for Scotty McCreery in his hometown changed the trajectory of his career, with the young musician realizing he felt called to fully pursue his dreams in music. Wendell enrolled at Stephen F. Austin State, where he spent two years balancing life as a student in the classroom as well as the Texas music scene before dropping out of college to dive headfirst into touring and songwriting.
Since then, Wendell has established himself as an artist on the rise, with his track “Drunk Words Are Sober Thoughts” earning 2.9 million global streams. Opportunities opening for artists including Parker McCollum, Tucker Wetmore, Flatland Cavalry, Randy Rogers, and William Beckmann have also helped put him on the map. Now signed to Sony Music Nashville, Wendell is primed and ready to make his mark on the country music genre.
